Privacy Policy

bittybiz is a neighborhood-business platform where young entrepreneurs (ages 10–17) do service jobs for invited, parent-approved customers. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you and your child have. Payments are processed by Stripe.

From parents: name, email, login credentials, and payout details you provide to Stripe to receive your child’s earnings.

From children (10–17): first and last name, birthday (used to confirm eligible age), a login email, and in-app activity such as jobs claimed, completed, and earnings/badges. A parent provides this when creating the child’s account.

From customers: name, email, phone, service address, the job details you write, and payment information entered directly with Stripe.

We do not collect more than we need to run the service, and children’s accounts have no public profiles.

We take children’s privacy seriously and comply with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). A child’s account on bittybiz can only be created and controlled by their parent or legal guardian.

Verifiable parental consent: the parent signs in to their own account and affirmatively creates the child’s account, providing the child’s name, birthday, and login email. By doing so, the parent confirms they are the child’s parent/guardian and consents to our collection and use of that information for the sole purpose of operating the child’s account.

We never: show children’s personal information publicly, sell it, share it with third parties for their own marketing, or use it for behavioral/targeted advertising. Customer connections are invite-only and require parent approval before any contact or work.

Parental rights: a parent can review and edit their child’s information at any time from the My Kids section of their dashboard, and can request deletion of the child’s account and personal information (which also stops any further collection). Removing the account deletes the child’s login and profile data from bittybiz.

• Operate accounts and the kid ↔ customer marketplace (posting jobs, claiming, completing).
• Process payments to kids’ parents and, where authorized, charge a customer’s saved card.
• Send transactional emails (job updates, payment reminders, receipts).
• Keep the service safe, prevent abuse, and meet legal and tax obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use children’s data for advertising.

We share only what’s necessary with vendors who process data on our behalf:

• Stripe — payments, saved cards, and parent payouts. Card numbers go directly to Stripe; bittybiz never receives or stores them.
• Supabase — secure database and authentication.
• Resend — sending transactional email.
• Vercel — application hosting.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect users’ safety.

Card details are entered on Stripe’s secure, PCI-compliant pages and stored by Stripe. bittybiz stores only a payment token and your card’s brand and last four digits — never the full card number. See our Auto-Pay Terms for how saved-card charges work.

We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal/tax requirements, then delete or anonymize it. We protect data in transit with TLS and restrict access to authorized systems. No method is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

You can access and update your information from your dashboard, remove a saved card at any time, and request deletion of your account (or your child’s). Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete personal information; we honor these requests.

If we make material changes, we’ll update this page and revise the effective date above, and — where required — seek renewed parental consent before applying changes to a child’s data.
